La terza stagione di The Walking Dead perde un grande Governatore

Probabilmente, il personaggio più atteso della terza stagione di The Walking Dead è il Governatore, il bastardo con un occhio solo ben noto ai fan del fumetto.

David Morrisey interpreterà il ruolo del Governatore nella terza stagione di The Walking Dead, ruolo originalmente proposto a John Hawkes


È ormai ufficiale che nella terza stagione il ruolo del Governatore spetterà a David Morrisey, ma è di questi giorni la notizia che il ruolo era stato inizialmente proposto all’immenso John Hawkes, già interprete di Contagion e Winter’s Bone ma, soprattutto, dello splendido Martha Marcy May Marlene (un film che non si potrà mai consigliare abbastanza).

Ecco come Hawkes ha spiegato il proprio rifiuto in una recente intervista a Movieweb.

“They offered me the role, and I just felt there would be someone else who could do it better. I was flattered, and I took a look at the series. It held interest for me, but I just didn’t feel like I was the guy for it. I have to be careful of what TV shows I choose, particularly ones that have commercials in them, because it’s going to be a different kind of television show. There are going to be sponsors. No matter how good the show is, if there are commercials, it’s going to be a different show, to me. That’s just my personal feeling. Yeah, it was nice of them to ask, and it’s a good show, but, again, I just didn’t feel I was the guy. They came to me and sent me the graphic novel and the first two seasons. I took a look at them, and just didn’t feel like it was for me.”

Devo ammettere che John Hawkes sarebbe stata una splendida aggiunta al cast di The Walking Dead. Non resta che sperare che David Morrisey faccia un buon lavoro e che gli sceneggiatori della serie ritrovino un minimo di vena creativa…

    scusa l’ignoranza Luca….ma questo governatore e’ quello che si vede alla fine? quello che incontra la bionda che scappa dai walkers?

    No, quella che si vede alla fine è una lei, Michonne (http://splashpage.mtv.com//wp-content/uploads/splash/2012/03/michonne.jpg), altro personaggio molto amato del fumetto, che nella serie sarà interpretato da Danai Gurira.

    Mah, secondo me fanno cagare sia Morrissey che Hawkes nella parte del governatore, vabbè che devono fare una cagata commerciale ma un personaggio come questo non possono rovinarlo così.
    Danny Trejo sarebbe stato perfetto o almeno qualcuno che gli assomigliasse.
